Indiana Education Reform On Misguided Journey

If you ever wonder why Indiana HB 1134 that would limit learning for our children got as far as it did, look no further than the Citizens United decision in 2010. This is when unlimited and largely hidden or dark monies were unleashed into our political system. The corporate Roberts Court bent over backwards to undo a century of legislative effort to keep corporate money from corrupting democracy by, instead, deciding that money was protected speech.

States such as Indiana have been so badly gerrymandered by this outside, money that our super majority in Indianapolis only listens now to donors, not the voters. And the donors are thrilled by the cash cow of education tax monies.
