According to recent article in USA Today, a large cavity about two-thirds the size of Manhattan and 1,000 feet tall has formed under the Thwaites Glacier in Antarctica. The glacier is about the size of Florida. A collapse of this glacier could lead to rapid changes in global sea levels. It holds enough ice to raise ocean levels another two feet if it completely melts.

While scientists try to warn us of this impending crisis, most of our USA leaders blindly go on, either denying man-made global warming, or giving programs to reduce it short shrift. The fact this is an existential crisis hasn’t sunk in.
