The voucher program was approved by Indiana legislators in 2011 touting that it would give poor children access to better schools, however, that is not borne out by research.

The Hoosier voucher program diverts $154 million dollars to private (and mostly religious schools) from the public tax dollars needed to serve the majority of our children in public education.
