At the Indiana Virtual School and other online schools in our state, the fix is in.  Under cover of “reform” Thomas Stoughton, founder and leader of AlphaCom Inc. stands to divert “tens of millions in state dollars . . . over the next two years”, according to Shaina Cavazos at Chalkbeat.

In the 2016-2017 year there was 1 teacher for every 222 students.

There is no real check on Indiana Virtual School that spends 89 percent of its funds on support services but only 7 percent on teacher and staff salaries. Further, it received a grade of F from the state in 2016-17, and graduated only 61 out of 900 seniors.  See your public tax dollars at work!
