The 2010 Supreme Court’s Citizens United Decision allows unlimited amounts of money to be used to influence politicians at both the state and federal level. One industry that has taken full advantage of this ruling is the healthcare industry. Years of their relentless lobbying has left us with a patchwork healthcare system that is unnecessarily complicated and very expensive. The US spends more on healthcare than any other industrialized nation and yet provides less than adequate care.
