One of the consequences of unleashing the Citizens United ruling in 2010 was when the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) expanded the narrow question of whether a video-on-demand would be held to the same standard as a TV ad. SCOTUS decided to consider a much broader question of whether a century of campaign finance rules violated the First Amendment.
The ruling held that corporations have a right to spend unlimited amounts of money in campaigns. So big money picks our elected officials, hands them the policies they want, and now our Indiana public schools are being defunded before our very eyes by those elected officials.
The sheep’s clothing over the wolf is “choice.”
