For the past 50 years the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a corporate funded right wing bill mill, has had labor unions under attack. The vast majority of these attacks have been funded by Koch Industries and the Bradley Foundation. The sole aim of these organizations has been to protect corporate bottom lines and weaken unions who are a key supporter of the Democratic Party.
The 2010 Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision has made it easier to sustain these attacks by permitting unlimited amounts of money to flood Congress and state legislatures thus influencing politicians to pass anti union legislation.
