The outlook for hourly workers continues to be grim as their wages continue to fall behind inflation. Meanwhile Fortune 500 company CEO’s pay continues to rise increasing by $5 million over the last decade. Nearly half of all jobs will be exposed to AI automation resulting in the disruption and displacement of workers. All of this is a result of an over 40 year assault on the American workers by powerful interests and corporations. This assault has intensified since the 2010 Supreme Court Citizen United decision which allows these special interests and corporations to spend unlimited amounts of “dark money” to influence local, state and Federal officials. This unchecked influence has resulted in the passing of laws and policies which are beneficial to the corporations and detrimental to the average worker.
